Burr Christianity
Hear ye, hear ye!
My name is Chad Muller, and I present free thoughts on the state of American Christianity…
Niceness is not a fruit of the Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23

Do you see niceness there? Oh look! Wait… No. No, it isn’t there.
But, love is! Yes, and love tells the truth. And gentleness and meekness are there!
Yes, and Jesus is the glorious image of gentleness and meekness, and
He rightly told off the hypocritical religious leaders of His day.

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”
Proverbs 27:6
Proverbs 27:6
A dear friend of mine once told me, “The person who loves you the most is the
person who tells you the most truth.”
person who tells you the most truth.”
So, the charge in this exhortation is simple: will you be a Burr Christian or a
Hamilton Christian? Would you rather have a Christian boldly tell you the
truth or have that same person mildly smile at you: seeming as though to say
“peace, peace…”?

Again, there is a language warning before the song that inspired this exhortation;
and the exhortation stands: will you be someone who stands for nothing, or
will you stand for something? May you stand for Jesus and His kingdom.
