Oh look! Wait… No. No, it isn’t there. But, love is! Yes, and love tells the truth. And gentleness and meekness are there! Yes, and Jesus is the glorious image of gentleness and meekness, and He rightly told off the hypocritical religious leaders of His day. “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Proverbs 27:6 A dear friend of mine once told me, “The person who loves you the most is the person who tells you the most truth.” So, the charge in this exhortation is simple: will you be a Burr Christian or a Hamilton Christian?
